STAFF: Nicole C. Scott
Nicole C. Scott is a multi-tasking extradordinaire who thrives on wearing many hats. With her educational background in both Television and Film production- paired with her work experience in both creative and administrative roles, Nicole came with just the right skill set to join the team at Outpost as Studio Manager.
While earning her Associates Degree at Diablo Valley College, Nicole became certified in Television Arts and interned in the Operations Department at KTVU, Fox Channel 2. Nicole then transferred to San Francisco State University to focus on a Bachelors degree in Cinema. While at SFSU, Nicole worked at the main office for the Cinema Department as well as the Editing Cage and took an internship position at The Film Arts Foundation assisting the Grants Coordinator. As part of her undergraduate studies at SFSU in the inter-disciplinary program: Visual Anthropology, Nicole co-produced a documentary entitled, "Migrant Motherhood" with Anthropology major, Clare Bakota. This 15 minute film about Latina immigrant nannies went on to screen at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts as part of Cinemateque's New Emerging Filmmakers series. While pursuing her college degrees, Nicole worked as a graffic and web designer/web-master, event coordinator, and videographer at Soundwave Studios- a music mecca in Oakland, CA.
Along with balancing work and family as a single mother of two children, Nicole also keeps herself busy with various multi-media endeavors as a freelance Creative Consultant- assisting others with print & web design, DVD authoring, & social network profile building.
With a passion for drumming, percussion, and singing, Nicole has also begun to produce her own music. Going by the artist name of Svaha with LVX1313, Nicole is currently working on a second collaboration with IKIPR exploring Pythagorean esoteric music correspondences. Heavily steeped in esoteric studies and comparative religious studies, Nicole is also an active member of a number of organizations including AMORC and the Theosophical Society and has published work in the online magazine, Theosophy World in December of 2009.
