SOUND DESIGN
"We just got word back today from the Cisco Virtual Events team. That boardomatic video that you guys scored and did the sound design for went over so well that the executive team was ready to sign after the video played—before the pitch/presentation! Both the score and the sfx were absolutely key to bringing that boardomatic to life. Thanks so much to you all for the excellent execution that Cisco and their executive team were impressed with so much that it was the center of the pitch! Thanks also for your continued support on our projects... we absolutely enjoy working with you all! |

Produced at times with layer upon layer of individual components e.g., a motorcycle engine beefed up by adding a lion's roar and dripping fuel sound for film can achieve the unusual through the creative mastery of a designer. Sound design is not however only gigantic explosions, guns, crashes, screams and sinking luxury liners, it is also found in the subtleties throughout films we all enjoy. Individual moments are designed to accentuate a specific object or character, etc. This can be his or her conjunction with music to amplify the overall emotional state of the viewer. The result hopefully is a rewarding film experience. |

With 20 years of experience, Dave Nelson and the staff of Outpost have had the luxury to work on and develop almost every different style of Sound Design. As supervising sound editor, Dave often holds the responsibility of the character and aura of a film in his hands. The art of Sound Design is demanding. It takes incredible stamina to produce the aural texture needed to pinpoint specific events or develop the overall feel of a film, documentary game design or stage performance. The sound designer's work must interpret the director's vision and inferences to an audience; often without the audience realizing it.
