Good friend of Outpost Studios, Producer Katrina
Drabkin brought her film “Opportunity Bound - Stories of
the Harvey Girls”, to have the sound edited by Miik Dinko.
Co-produced with Thaddeus Homan the film explores how a dynamic
group of independent waitresses, the Harvey Girls, opened the
doors of the workplace to women and contributed to the development
of the American West.
Dave Nelson lectured at Stanford’s Documentary
film and video program on his “Sound for Film” curriculum.
It was a great opportunity for both Dave and the students to meet
and learn the latest in post-production sound.
As a result of this connection, filmmaker and
graduate student Gretchen Hildebran brought her film “Out
In The Heartland” to Outpost Studios. Dave Nelson and Miik
Dinko dialogue edited, sound-designed, and mixed the film. The
film explores the effects of Kentucky's recent constitutional
amendment to ban gay marriage on three families and their communities.
