News: March 2005

Spring has sprung at Outpost Studios with a
steady stream commercial clients coming through our doors.
Mondo Media’s Jim Lively, came to produce
“Happy Tree Friends”, voice over session with Engineer
Miik Dinko. “Happy Tree Friends” is an edgy show and
an animation staple of MTV Latino’s schedule.
Gene Ed’s Keoni Chavez continues to work
steadily with engineer Miik Dinko doing the voice over for Gene
Ed’s popular medical courses.
Director/Producer Paul Wood collaborated on
two commercials for a large high-tech company with Dave Nelson.
Dave Nelson designed the music and sound.
Dave Nelson also took advantage of Spring Break
from his class Cine 520 at San Francisco State to update Outpost
Studios equipment. We are pleased to announce a major update to
our digital audio system. We are transitioning from a 24 Mix to
HD3 with Sync IO, featuring the most current music and film plug-ins
like Aliverb and Filterbank MCDSP. The Digi Design HD3-which runs
on a new Dual 2 gig G5 Macintosh, will give Dave and the staff
at Outpost Studios the power needed for all the projects coming
up in 2005. Dave also decided to add to his microphone collection
an AEA Ribbon AS-R84. “This amazing mic has made me a ribbon
believer. It sounds good on everything” says Dave. We know
that this update signals to all of our clients the commitment
to quality sound that Outpost Studios is famous for without increasing
prices. We look forward to offering all our clients, from the
independent filmmaker and music production to the gaming community,
the best possible sound needed for any project. This keeps us
up to date to the rash of High Def 24P format projects coming
to Outpost Studios.
We also look forward to April and the new challenges
our clients and friends will bring to Outpost Studios.
